No, not the sort of draft season with first round picks, but the winter drafts that can leak through windows that are aging, damaged or broken. It’s best to fix windows ahead of time, before winds get icy and the chill gets through the cracks. Sometimes small drafts may not be very noticeable (and it’s easy enough to just wear socks), but the leaks actually increase your heating bill dramatically. It may be cost efficient over the long term to invest in new windows and reduce your monthly heating bill. Whatever the time of year, we will replace windows at the least inconvenience to you.  Contact us now to get your windows checked before the first draft hits.

2010 Energy Star Tax Credit. Uncle Sam Says Do Your Storm Windows Now.

If you’re considering adding your home’s efficiency, doing it before the end of the year will mean extra savings to you. Not to mention lower heating and cooling costs in the long run. If you get reflective roofs that meet the requirements, you will receive a tax credit for 30% of the cost, up to $1,500. For adding storm windows or replacing old ones with Energy Star-rated windows, you will receive a tax credit for 30% of the cost with no upper limit. First things first: the energy compliant roof and/or window project must be completed before December 31, 2010. Then all you have to do is file Tax Form 5695 with your tax return. We can help explain what these tax credits mean, and which projects are eligible. Just let us know you’re interested.
